Amazing as De gea breaks 50yrs old record

David De Gea broke a 50-year-old record set by
Gordon Banks in Spain’s 3-0 victory over Turkey
at Euro 2016.
The Manchester United goalkeeper had kept
clean sheets in his first four competitive games
against Luxembourg, Macedonia, Ukraine and
Czech Republic and secured a fifth in Friday’s
win.
Banks made his competitive debut for England
against Uruguay in 1966 and managed to keep a
clean sheet, before doing the same in wins over
Mexico, France and Argentina.
But after 442 minutes, Banks was finally beaten
in the World Cup semi-final as Eusebio scored a
penalty, although England went on to win the
game 2-1.
Alvaro Morata’s double and Nolito’s strike
sealed the 3-0 victory over Turkey to put Spain
back at the top of Group D and safely through
to the last 16.

Senate reduces JAMB fees to N2,500

Senate amends the Act that established JAMB – Says the validity period for UTME may soon be three years – Demanded the building of a laboratory in every higher institution for easy understanding of CBT Naij.com has gathered that the Nigerian Senate has resolved to amend the Act establishing the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to extend the validity of its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to three years. READ ALSO: Post-UTME: Check out cut off marks for your school of choice The decision which was reached after the consideration of a report by the committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND chaired by Senator Binta Garba (APC Adamawa North) changed. The Senate in 2015 had mandated the committee to investigate the new JAMB admission policy and the unification of the all their tertiary institution examinations and had also directed the committee to include in its report, the amendment of the ACT establishing JAMB so as to extend the validity period for the examination to three years. The Senate however adopted the recommendation that the UTME examination should have a validity period of three years to reduce the financial burden on parents. Similarly, the upper chamber also resolved that the examination fees be reviewed downwards to N2500 while change of course and institutions as well as any other changes surrounding the examination be free. The Senate further resolved that computer laboratories should be built in all higher institutions of learning to aid Computer Based Test (CBT). Speaking earlier, Senator Binta Marsi said that most of the universities had low capacity to accommodate the amount of student who seek admission on a yearly basis. She therefore advocated the establishment of more institutions to accommodate the growing student population. The Senate thereafter adjourned plenary to Thursday, March 3.
